I am never reading only one book. I resort to several. I am currently reading Ibn Jaldún´s Introduction to universal history, Antonio Gamoneda´s This light (poetry), Rafael Escudero´s Leonor, mon amur (novel), and Ian Gibson´s Light luggage (a treat on Antonio Machado)

In your life, what book has impacted you the most?

Enrique Iglesias


For Enrique Iglesias, music is no numbers game. It´s about passion, expression and art. But with nearly 40 million albums sold all over the world, the numbers do tell a tale:

Julio Iglesias Jr.


Julio Jose Iglesias, the son of world renowned singer Julio Iglesias and his wife , Isabel Preysler, was born in Madrid, Spain on Feb. 25, 1973, but moved to Miami, Florida, as a child.

Although Julio Jose, also known as Julio Iglesias Jr., has been surrounded by music his entire life, he didn’t enter the business himself until the late 1990s when he released his first album in English. He subsequently returned to his roots by recording songs in Spanish and now is a famous singer in his own right.

Liza Gross, a native of Argentina with more than 22 years of experience in the field of journalism and communications, is Managing Editor/Presentations & Operations for The Miami Herald. She previously worked as executive managing editor of El Nuevo Dia, Puerto Rico’s largest circulation daily, and as publisher of Exito, the Chicago Tribune’s Spanish-language newspaper. Gross belongs to prestigious professional associations such as the International Women’s Media Foundation, of which she is a member of the board of directors.

Andrés Oppenheimer


Andres Oppenheimer is a columnist for The Miami Herald, a CNN political analyst and host of the Spanish-language TV talk show “Oppenheimer Presenta.”

His columns on international politics are published in more than 50 newspapers throughout the world. He has been co-recipient of the Pulitzer Prize, as well as winner of the King of Spain, Ortega y Gasset, Maria Moors Cabot and Inter-American Press Association awards, among many others. He has published several best sellers, including “Ojos Vendados: Estados Unidos y el negocio de la corrupcion en America Latina” (Blindfolded Eyes: the United States and the Business of Corruption in Latin America), “Mexico: En la frontera del Caos” (Bordering on Chaos: Mexico’s Roller-Coaster Journey to Prosperity), “Cronicas de Heroes y Bandidos” (Chronicles of Heroes and Bandits) and his latest best seller “Cuentos Chinos” (Tall Tales).

Having spent the past 25 years as a reporter and news anchor for Univision – the world’s leading Spanish-language network, with viewers across the United States and in 18 other countries – Salinas is making her debut as an author with “Yo soy la hija de mi padre: Una vida sin secretos” (I am My Father’s Daughter: Living a Life Without Secrets).

She has been co-anchor of the national newscast “Noticiero Univision” for almost 20 years and is co-host of the prime-time television news magazine “Aqui y Ahora.” Salinas has won numerous journalism prizes during her distinguished career, including several Emmy awards.
