Instituto Cervantes New York has a new director

Ignacio Olmos, who has a degree in Philosophy and Economics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, is leaving his post as director in Chicago to direct the Instituto Cervantes New York. Julio Martínez Mesanza, who directed several branches abroad, has ben named academic director of the institution.

Book Cycle organizers say demand is rising for Spanish books

This program that allows kids to take home books and trade later, started in 2003 and offers books in English and Spanish. When Book Cycle kicked off this school year in September, the demand for Spanish books was higher, says organizer and volunteer Colleen Reader.
