Madrid Book Fair starts today

The 73 edition of the fair starts May 30th at noon. The event includes exhibitors, conferences, readings and much more. It takes place in El Retiro park and it ends June 15.

12 students will be the stars of the 2014 Hispanic College Quiz fall TV show

HACU is seeking undergraduate students currently enrolled at U.S. HACU-member institutions to demonstrate their knowledge of Latino history by answering questions in a game show format for the 2014 Hispanic College Quiz produced by Central City Productions. Students compete in one of four shows for a chance to earn a scholarship. The deadline to sign up is June 3rd.

BiblioBoard announces additional publishers added to their PatronsFirst mobile platform

Over 10,000 Spanish language books from many publishers are coming to BiblioBoard in partnership with e-Libro, one of the largest distributors of Spanish Language eBooks. The books come from over 300 Spanish language publishers, such as EL Cid, Scielo Cuba, Grupo Destiempos, Bubok, Granica, and Nobuko, Encuentro, with countless authors contributing—including Pope Francis. Additionally, Spain-based publisher Red Ediciones will contribute with hundreds of literary and historic books from the 18th to the 20th century.

BookExpo America starts today at the Javits Center in New York

BookExpo America, which will take place in New York City at the Jacob K. Javits Center, May 29 – May 31, 2014, is the largest book industry event in North America, and one of the largest gatherings of English language publishers in the world. 23 countries are participating in this years edition, and America Read Spanish will be present at the Spain's pavilion.

Four indie publishers will publish books from self-published Spanish writers
