Guadalajara International Book Fair to honor García Márquez and Paz

Colombian author Gabriel García Márquez and Mexico's Octavio Paz will be honored at the 28th edition of the Guadalajara International Book Fair, Nov. 29 – Dec. 7th. The event president Raul Padilla Lopez announced that participants will commemorate the birth centennial of Paz (1914-1998) and celebrate the memory of Garcia Marquez (1927-2014), who died in April.

Among the 19 new additions, IPG’s Spanish Language distribution arm has inked contracts with four new publishers for distribution: Linkgua, Titiris, Cute Ediciones, and Páginas Libros de Magia.

HACU’s Hispanic higher education conference had record attendance

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities' (HACU) 28th Annual Conference “Championing Hispanic Higher Education: Investing in America’s Future,” held in Denver, Colorado, drew more than 1,500 participants from the U.S., Spain, the Caribbean, Central America, South America, and Mexico, including approximately 450 students from national colleges and universities.
