“Pacto de Brujas” is the featured movie in Días de Cine Reading Club for the next two weeks

The movie, based on Andreu Martín's “La camisa del revés,” is featured at the Días de Cine Reading Club until July 22nd. This initiative is sponsored by the America Reads Spanish program and the American Library Association to promote literature and the Spanish language in American libraries and universities.

Nominations are now open for 2012 Carnegie Corporation of New York/New York Times I Love My Librarian Award

Library users can nominate a librarian for the award. The ten winners will receive a $5,000 cash award, a plaque and a $500 travel stipend to attend an award ceremony and reception in December in New York.

Registration for DELE August 24th test is now open

Instituto Cervantes has opened the registration for the tests to obtain the Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language, DELE, until July 27. The test will be administered in all the cities where the institute has locations.

Días de Cine Reading Club is presenting “Plenilunio” this week

The movie, based on Antonio Muñoz Molina's novel, is featured at the Días de Cine Reading Club until July 8th. This initiative is sponsored by the America Reads Spanish program and the American Library Association to promote literature and the Spanish language in American libraries and universities.

The 10th “Congreso del Libro 2012” starts Saturday in Barcelona

The two-day conference discusses the past, present and future of books. Speakers include José Francisco Álvarez, Javier Celaya and Jeffrey R. Di Leo.
