Nielsen BookScan, part of the Nielsen Company (US) LLC, and America Reads Spanish (ARS) present the free, weekly list of the Spanish bestseller titles in the US Market for week 45 of 2012 (week ending 11/1/2012).

With the inaugural ceremony on Thursday, the Festival will have activities Friday and Saturday with writers, editors y readers form Spain and America to celebrate the Spanish language.

The annual event runs until November 18 and features nightly readings and discussions with authors from the United States and around the world, plus the popular Street Fair that includes Festival of Authors, with more than 350 authors reading and discussing their work.

The movie, based on Manuel Rivas' story is featured at the Días de Cine Reading Club until November 25th. This initiative is sponsored by the America Reads Spanish program and the American Library Association to promote literature and the Spanish language in American libraries and universities.

Mexican writer Benito Taibo will present his first novel, “Persona Normal,” and Spanish poet and translator Luis Muñoz will read selections of his latest work.

The December catalog also features the section “Un libro, un regalo” (A book, a gift) with presents ideas for all age groups.

Recently, Elissa Miller won the America Reads Spanish's Librarian of the Year award. The prestigious newspaper reported Miller's accomplishment in its “D.C. News in Brief” section.
