Joseph Gelinek

Joseph Gelinek is the name chosen by Spanish presenter and journalist Máximo Pradera to sign part of his literary work.

In real life, Joseph Gelinek was an Austrian composer and pianist who lived in the mid-18th and early 19th centuries. He worked at the court of Count Kinsky on the recommendation of Mozart. He was known for his piano compositions and achieved some success from 1800 to 1810 but is practically forgotten today.

Thus, Pradera decided to use the name of this author, almost unknown to the Spanish public, when presenting his novels, in which the world of music plays a predominant role. Highlights of his work include historical titles such as El violín del diablo and the thriller Morir a los 27.
