The history of Ediciones Akal began in 1972, and from the first moment it was clear its commitment to the quality of the books published, looking for texts that, apart from passing trends, constituted a solid and coherent fund of long range, even if some of the authors did not enjoy the blessing of the cultural establishment at that time.
