El estudio de la escritura supone todo un reto para el mundo docente dado que su aprendizaje es fundamental en el éxito académico de los estudiantes. A pesar de ello, en España, pese a la importancia de la formación lingüística y a la constante preocupación del profesorado universitario ante los errores ortográficos, semánticos y gramaticales que presenta el alumnado y ante la dificultad que tienen de expresarse por escrito con claridad y cohesión, la investigación en este campo es muy escasa.
