Pese a que los problemas de la línea también fueron señalados por los expertos desde su inauguración, la autora describe cómo pesaron más los intereses políticos y económicos que la seguridad de los ciudadanos. A section of Line 12 collapsed, and the last wagons plunged into the void. The 26 people who died, and all those whose lives changed after the accident, never imagined that the fatality would come in the middle of such a routine journey.
After its opening in 2012, the journalist Icela Lagunas reported in the media about the irregularities in the construction and was one of the first communicators to alert about the possible risks of a fatal accident.
