Borja Sémper

Spanish politician and writer Borja Sémper was born on January 10th, 1976, in Irún.

He served as spokesperson for the People's Party (PP) in the Basque Parliament and, from 2009 to 2020, as president of the People's Party of Guipúzcoa. He earned a law degree from the University of the Basque Country, specializing in Public Management at the IESE Business School of the University of Navarra.

In 1993, he joined the New Generations of Guipúzcoa and later became part of the team that eventually led the People's Party of the Basque Country. During this time, Sémper was a target of ETA, which attempted to assassinate him on several occasions.

From 1995 to 2010, he was a councilor in the city council of his hometown and announced his retirement from politics in 2020. He then began working as a Relations Director for a consulting firm. In the literary field, he has published books such as Sin complejo, Maldito (Des)amor, Cosas que pasan, and Todos los futuros perdidos, in which he talks with Eduardo Madina about the end of ETA.
