Alaitz Leceaga

Alaitz Leceaga, a Basque writer of magical realism, who after the success of her short stories in Spanish and English published in several Internet portals, began writing her first novel.

Her stories deal with family relationships, forgiveness and nature. ‘El bosque lleva tu nombre’ was published in 2018 and became one of the bestsellers of the year, in addition to having sold its rights to be adapted as a television series.

‘Las hijas de la tierra’ was her second novel, with which she once again captured her readers by presenting a family saga whose story takes place in a vineyard in La Rioja in the 19th century.

It was in 2021, with ‘Hasta donde termina el mar,’ that she won the Fernando Lara Award 2021.
