Argentine writer and essayist, Ricardo Piglia graduated in History from the University of La Plata and worked for several publishing houses for a long time. He was a professor of Literature at the University of Buenos Aires and a visiting professor at several American universities such as Harvard and Princeton.
He was also the editor of the magazine Literatura y Sociedad and has also ventured into the world of screenwriting.
Piglia is the author of essays, short stories, and novels, the latter of which are characterized by their lyricism. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and prizes, including the Planeta de Argentina, the José Donoso Prize, the Rómulo Gallegos Prize, the Hammet Prize for Crime Novels, the Konex Prize, and the Formentor Prize for Literature, among others.
Among his works, titles such as Jaulario, Blanco nocturno, Respiración artificial, and Plata quemada are worth highlighting.
