Cristian Alarcón

Chilean journalist and writer based in Argentina, Cristian Alarcón (La Unión, 1970) is known for his work in media outlets such as Página/12, Gatopardo, and Rolling Stone.

He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Social Communication at the National University of La Plata, where he is a full professor.

Alarcón is co-director of the Master's Program in Narrative Journalism at the National University of General San Martín. There, he founded Anfibia, a digital magazine of chronicles and narrative essays, of which he is also director. He also directs Cosecha Roja, the Latin American Network of Judicial Journalism.

He has published several books, such as Cuando me muera quiero que me toquen cumbia and Si me querés, quereme transa. His most notable work is El tercer paraíso, winner of the 2022 Alfaguara Prize.
