Antonio Monegal

Spanish professor, editor, and writer, Antonio Monegal was born in Barcelona in 1957.

He graduated in Philosophy from the Universidad de Barcelona, ??earned his doctorate from Harvard, and before returning to Spain, taught at Cornell University.

Monegal is a professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at Universidad Pompeu Fabra. His field of expertise is literature and its relationship with other artistic disciplines.

Monegal has edited works by Federico García Lorca and coordinated several anthologies. His own nonfiction work includes Como el aire que respiramos winner of the 2023 National Essay Prize.
