Albert Molins

A Spanish journalist and gastronome, Albert Molins was born in Barcelona in 1969.

He holds a degree in Journalism from the Universidad Autonoma of Barcelona and has been the editor of the society section of the newspaper La Vanguardia since 2020. At the newspaper, he covers topics such as tourism, consumer technology, and social media, in addition to gastronomy.

In addition to his journalistic work, throughout his career he has contributed to media outlets such as Bon Viveur—where he published the column "Don't Eat My Head"—Gastronosfera, Tinta de Calamar, and Apicius. He also regularly publishes the newsletter "Reflections of an Anguished Gastronome" and, until 2014, managed the blog "Homo Gastronomicus," which Ferran Adrià himself declared the best in Spain. In 2020, he founded the website "Esmorzars de forquilla," a guide on where to enjoy the best lunches in Catalonia.

On the literary front, Molins published Comer sin pedir permiso in 2024, a book that moves away from classic gastronomic literature and dismantles culinary prejudices, dismantles emerging food trends, and warns against pseudo-experts in nutrition and food safety.
