Spanish journalist Ibon Martín studied Communication and Journalism at the University of the Basque Country. After graduating, he went on to work for various local media outlets, combining this with one of his greatest passions: travel.
For several years now, he has been writing several travel books and routes around the Basque Country, becoming one of the leading experts on rural tourism and leisure throughout the Basque Country. His books explore areas less open to tourism from various perspectives, such as traveling by car or from town to town. Several of his books have been written in collaboration with Álvaro Muñoz.
In fiction, Martín began his career with the novel El Valle sin nombre. He later published a series of four books set in a setting of myths and legends surrounding the Irati Forest, consisting of the novels El faro del silencio, La fábrica de las sombras, El último akelarre y La jaula de sal.
