Jordi Sierra i Fabra

Jordi Sierra i Fabra is a Spanish writer and music commentator who was born on July 26th, 1947, in Barcelona.

Although he began writing at the age of eight, he completed his first long novel, a 500-page one, at just 12. He studied to be a quantity surveyor while working during the day at a construction company, and starting in 1968, he began publishing articles in La Prensa in Barcelona and the Nuevo Diario in Madrid, while also co-founding El Gran Musical on Cadena Ser.

Starting in 1970, he abandoned his studies and worked to travel the world accompanying music greats. He published his first book, 1962-72 Historia de la Música Pop, which proved to be a commercial success. While working in various jobs related to the world of music, he continued writing fiction, finishing as a finalist and winning several awards.

In 1977, Sierra i Fabra founded the well-known magazine Super Pop; The following year, he was a finalist for the Planeta Novel Prize. From then on, he won numerous awards: the Ateneo de Sevilla Prize and the Gran Angular Prize for Young Adult Literature.
