Spanish writer and literary critic, Rafael Reig, born on September 16th, 1963, spent his childhood in Colombia, later moving to Madrid,
where he began his studies in Philosophy and Literature, from which he would earn his doctorate in New York. He has taught both in the United States and Spain, in addition to editing works by 19th-century Spanish authors such as José de Larra and Benito Pérez Galdós.
As a novelist, he is considered one of the most important and influential postmodern authors of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Reig, noted for his extensive training and distinctive humor, was one of the first Spanish writers to use the internet as a means of dissemination; thus, his novel Razón de más (1999) was published in installments on an internet portal.
