Jesús Ruiz Mantilla

Born in Santander in 1965, Jesús Ruiz Mantilla holds a degree in Information Sciences from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and has worked at the newspaper El País since 1992,

publishing articles on music, film, and books in the culture section and the Babelia supplement. He has also been a contributor to the program La Ventana.

His novels, on a variety of topics including music, painting, and gastronomy, are characterized by journalistic language, with minimalist descriptions of situations and atmosphere.

Ruiz Mantilla's first work, Los ojos no ven, dealt with the enigmas of Dalí's world. He discusses other notable figures in his books Preludio and Yo, Farinelli, el capón.
