A writer and civil servant in the Spanish General Administration, Mario Villén Lucena was born in Pinos Puente in 1978.
He graduated with a degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Granada and soon after began working for the state.
His writing career began with short stories, which earned him several awards in various Spanish competitions, such as the VII Ciudad de Andújar Children's and Young Adult Literature Prize in 2003 and the XXIII Castillejo-Benigno Vaquero Literary Competition in Pinos Puente.
As an author, he has published books such as El escudo de Granada, his literary debut, 40 días de fuego, and Nazarí.
