Los libros que leímos juntos / The Reading Promise. My Father and the Books We Shared
by Alice Ozma
When Alice was nine, she and her father, an eccentric and passionate librarian, promised to read together for a hundred consecutive nights. When they reached his goal and felt that none of them wanted to leave his routine of reading, they decided to continue with what they called Promise for as long as they could.

From L. Frank Baum Dickens and Shakespeare from JK Rowling, Alice's father read him every night until she went to college, eight years later. In this moving autobiography, Alice speaks not only books, but tells her relationship with the man who raised her through funny stories, as he try to teach biking or cross alone in defense of reading voice high schools. The books we read together weaves a series of episodes, often very funny, showing how literature can join our lives.

"It is a book about reading [...] but its greatest virtue is the author's love for the father who kept his promise," Washington Post.

"There is no better argument for the benefits of reading to children that this rich and imaginative work," Publishers Weekly.

"A charming autobiography that combines the experience of Ozma as a reader with a perfect expression of what it means to grow and intense learning involved [...]. Sweet, captivating and enormously inspiring [...]. Highly recommended "Library Journal.

"Ozma has written a rich and suggestive, witty and tender autobiography, full of trust and empathy" Booklist.

"A warm autobiography and a reminder to parents about the importance of books, and quality time reading to children" Kirkus Reviews.

Todo lo que necesitas saber sobre narcotráfico / Everything You Need to Know about Drug Trafficking
by Cecilia González
What are drugs? Since when, why and where are they produced and consumed? In what historical context were they prohibited? Why were tobacco and alcohol legalized? Who traffics drugs and how do they do it?  How did the drug bosses build their legends? What is narcoculture? How are the prices for drugs set? What effect does this business have on the global economy? When and how did drug trafficking and politics become connected? What is the current panorama of the drug trade and what options are there for the future? Who are the victims?

Drug trafficking has consolidated as a global phenomenon that has expanded into all regions of the world, producing victims of all types. The United States is the largest market of drug consumers, and the main supplier of guns to Mexican cartels, but opposes modifying its policies despite the obvious failure of a war that has had little effect on the levels of consumption or production, the cartels or drug traffickers. In this extraordinarily illustrative book journalist Cecilia González writes in a professional and responsible way about the serious problem of drug trafficking and proposes that we step away from taboos in order to analyze it in-depth, without sensationalism and with our eyes set on new proposals to combat drug traffickers' power.

Las caras del mal / The faces of Evil
by Mónica G. Álvarez
What facial features do serial killers and pedophiles have in common? Can our children's faces tell us if they are potential psychopaths?

Often without even realizing it, we judge people for the way they look. This first human impulse of rejecting an individual because of their appearance was what led writer and journalist Mónica G. Álvarez to research what a person transmits when we meet them. Her research focused on the face. A crucial part of this was the contribution from a little-known science called psycho-morphology, which affirms that the body and mind are connected, that the state of one influences the other and that by observing the face we can analyze the association and interaction between the two. What features determine who is a serial killer or pedophile? Or a terrorist? What gives away a pedophile? Can we tell if our children are potential psychopaths? She found millions of questions, but only one motto: understand and don't judge. In The Faces of Evil, the author delves into the depths of evil accompanied by Spain's two most well-known experts in psycho-morphology who have analyzed the faces of patricides, serial killers, pedophiles, dictators, terrorists, mass killers and murders of women, assassins, and even children, putting together a book that will provoke a true moral conflict in readers. Because appearances are always deceiving... will you dare to continue judging after reading this book?

Yo fui la espía que amó al Comandante / I Was the Spy Who Loved El Comandante
by Marita Lorenz
A life from the movies: from Fidel Castro's Nazi camps, the CIA and Kennedy's assassination
Few people can say that they have seen an important part of 20th century history pass before their eyes. And not just as spectators, but devouring them. Ilona Marita Lorenz is one of them.
Marita was born in Germany in 1939 on the eve of the invasion of Poland to a German father who was boat captain and American mother who had been an actress. As a child she was a prisoner in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Shortly after the war ended, at the age of seven, she was the victim of rape.
She sailed with her father occasionally in the following years. In 1959 she arrived aboard the Berlin to the Cuban revolution in Havana. A group of bearded men, led by Fidel Castro, boarded the ship. The attraction was immediate. A week later El Comandante sent someone to look for her in New York and he would make her his lover. She was 19.
She soon found out she was pregnant, but underwent an operation and the baby was never born... Or at least that is what they told her. The CIA convinced Marita that Fidel was responsible for what had happened and sent her back to Havana with the mission of assassinating him, but she couldn't do it-she was still in love with him.
It would seem like enough to fill two lives, but there's still more. Back in Miami she met ex-Venezuelan dictator Marcos Pérez Jiménez and had a daughter with him.  In November of 1963 she traveled from Miami to Dallas in a convoy which included Frank Sturgis, one of the men detained as part of Watergate, and a guy named Ozzie-Lee Harvey Oswald that is. She was later a New York mafia party girl and police informant. She was married had a child with a man who spied on Soviet diplomats for the FBI.

Marita's story has its highlights and shadows. But more than anything it is a story of love and danger. That of a spy, who above all and despite herself, loved El Comandante.
