A lo largo de diez meses escribí diez ensayos: atendiendo a su condición de cirujano, al inicio solo sabía que cada uno de ellos debería hacer referencia a una parte del cuerpo, así como a sus metáforas culturales y políticas.
My Father’s Examination gathers reflections about the life and death of the author’s father: autobiographical passages; the country’s sociopolitical situation, with special emphasis on the violence it is currently enduring; cultural reflections and references; and elements of physiology and anatomy of the human body that serve in each case as a unifying thread that ties together the rest of the stories.
