The jury has distinguished the author for her book “El efecto Frankenstein” (The Frankestein Effect), in which she lauds the work of Mary Shelley.

The award was announced by the Minister of Culture and Sports, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes.  “I have just telephoned Elia Barceló to tell her that the jury has awarded her the National Award for Children and Young Adult Literature for her book, “The Frankenstein Effect!” Congratulations, Elia!

This award is endowed with 20,000 Euros.  The book also won the Edebé Prize for Children and Young Adult Literature.
