Bookmasters has signed an agreement with Spanish publisher Edibesa to print and distribute the Spanish and English versions of Edibesa’s daily Catholic devotional book, Evangelio 2014 and Gospel 2014.

This is the first time in Evangelio’s 16 year run that Edibesa is releasing a version in English. Each year since 1997, the Spanish version has sold between 600,000 and 1 million copies in Spain.

Intended to be a simple guide to Catholic life through daily prayer, Evangelio 2014 and Gospel 2014 include the Daily Gospels of the Mass, order of prayer in the Liturgy of the Hours, a liturgical calendar, information on each day’s saints, and a compilation of Catholic prayers on each gospel by Father Jose A. Martinez-Puche.

While Evangelio 2014 and Gospel 2014 will be available in a standard edition, any archdiocese, parish, or church can also order the title with customized front and back covers.

The publication date is set for September 3rd. The ISBN for Evangelio 2014 is 978-84-15622-63-1, and the ISBN for Gospel 2014 is 978-84-15662-65-5.

“Millions of Spanish-speaking readers have heard the voice of the Lord through Evangelio’s spiritual and evangelical influence in the past 16 years, and for this reason we wanted to make this title available in English,” said Luis Angel Soler, commercial director at Edibesa. “In addition, the ability to personalize the covers with images and text is important for integration and identification in different communities.”

“We are honored to help Edibesa introduce this popular publication to English-speaking readers for the first time, as well as continue to offer the Spanish-language version,” added Larry Bennett, president of distribution services at Bookmasters.

Madrid-based Edibesa, owned by the Dominican Order, is one of the world’s foremost publishers of Spanish-language Catholic books. For more information, visit www.edibesa.com.
