Dennis Lehane, winner of the Francisco González Ledesma Award

The award was presented on May 10 as part of the Valencia Negra festival, which dressed the city in crime literature from Thursday, May 9 to May 19.

The American writer Dennis Lehane received on May 10 the Francisco González Ledesma Award, which recognizes a whole career in storytelling. This award is given by the Valencia Negra festival and has already been given to James Ellroy, Andreu Martín, Alicia Giménez Bartlett, Jo Nesbo, Lorenzo Silva, Jordi Sierra i Fabra, Juan Madrid and Paco Camarasa.

The Valencia Negra festival reached its twelfth edition and did so with the same spirit that has guided it and has given it such good results in previous years: combining literary meetings with writers from the national scene, such as Alicia Giménez Bartlett, Mikel Santiago, Víctor del Árbol, Cristina Cerrada and Rosa Montero, and international authors such as Claudia Piñeiro, Alan Parks and Ragnar Jónasson. And offering a series of parallel activities such as concerts, films, reading clubs, scavenger hunts, etc. linked to the noir genre.
