The winners of the 46th edition of the SM El Barco de Vapor and Gran Angular Awards for the best Children and Young Adult Literature Book, respectively, were presented today at a press conference.
La leyenda del samurai y la mariposa azul, by Pedro Caldas and Intruso,by David Lozano have been the winners of these awards, endowed with 35,000 euros each, the largest in the Spanish-speaking world in their categories. The books are already available to buy.
Maica Rivera, cultural journalist, hosted the event and wanted to highlight 'the firm commitment of both stories to unexpected friendships in life, to brotherhood and the extraordinary human capacity for maturity in times of great adversity". Also "the introspective strength of both stories, where conflicts invite a constructive debate, optimistic but not Manichean, about the possibilities of forgiveness, change for the sake of a better society and the development of a clear dialogue in the face of death that moves without condescension.'
