Interview with the writer Ernesto Mallo, creator of Inspector Lascano.

Ernesto Mallo, an Argentinean from La Plata (1948), has been living in Spain for a long time and his career is long and prestigious, not only in literature.

Writer, journalist, translator, university professor, editorial advisor, bookseller, founder of BAN! (Buenos Aires crime novel festival). His extensive experience is rounded off by a literary career that includes novels, theater and short stories included in several titles. His best-known novels are those that make up the series starring Comisario Lascano, or Perro Lascano, as he is known.

He won, among others, the Silverio Cañada Memorial Prize at the Semana Negra de Gijón (2007). In addition to Lascano's novels, he has published “El relicario,” “Me verás caer” and more than ten plays, including La vacuna and Siete cuadros. His work has been translated into twelve languages. In this interview he talks about the last title of the series, “Perro viejo,” and other topics.  I thank him for the time dedicated to the interview.
