Empar Fernández. Interview with the author of El Miedo del Cuerpo

Empar Fernández was born in Barcelona in 1962. She graduated in Clinical Psychology and Contemporary History and teaches History classes at a public institute that she combines with her role as a writer.

She also signs scripts in the production of historical documentaries. In her literary career she has covered several genres, although the one in which she has worked the most has been in the crime novel.

Likewise, she has published titles both alone and in collaboration with other authors such as Pablo Bonell Goytisolo (in Cienfuegos, August 17 or the series starring Inspector Escalona) or Judith Pujadó (the satirical works Planeta ESO). Ella y ella touches on fiction as well as non-fiction (for example, with the informative title La jornada interminable).

Among her works we can highlight, among others, the Guilt Trilogy (La mujer que no bajó del avión, La última llamada, which was nominated for the Hammet Prize and won the Tenerife Noir and the Cubelles Noir), Hotel Lutecia, La epidemia de la primavera, Será nuestro secreto and El miedo en el cuerpo. In this interview she tells us about herself. I really appreciate her time and kindness.
