eBiblio loans grew by 30% in 2023 to 3.5 million, surpassing the record figures of the pandemic.

eBiblio, the e-book lending platform promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, through the Directorate General of Books, Comics and Reading, and in collaboration with the autonomous communities,

has exceeded in 2023 its historical data related to collection and usage.

The figures even exceed the extraordinary results of 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic meant the closure of libraries and the Ministry of Culture made an extraordinary purchase of licenses to meet the high reading demand of the platform's users.

During the past year, eBiblio has been used by 171,860 unique users, 25% more than in 2022, corresponding to different users who have borrowed a title or made a reservation on a document. As for the number of loans, a total of 3,503,259 were made, which is 29% more than in the previous year.
