Cervantes Institute. An unpublished letter from Rosa Chacel to María Zambrano is entered into the Caja de las Letras.

Also stored were the unfinished draft of an article from 1984, a pipe and the plaque of the National Prize for Literature awarded to her by the Ministry of Culture in 1987.

Rosa Chacel (Valladolid, 1898 – Madrid, 1994), one of the most recognized Spanish writers of the 20th century, was included in the Caja de las Letras today with an “in memoriam” legacy consisting of an original letter that she sent to María Zambrano and the unfinished draft of an article published in 1984, among other objects.

All of this was kept in safe deposit box, number 971, of the old vault at the headquarters of the Cervantes Institute, where legacies from other great authors of the time are also stored, such as García Lorca, Luis Cernuda, Pedro Salinas and María Zambrano.
