The Public Library of the Spanish State in Córdoba, 'Grupo Cántico' has been inaugurated.

The Minister of Culture of Spain, Ernest Urtasun, together with the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalusia, Arturo Bernal, and the mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido, inaugurated yesterday the State Public Library in Córdoba, named Grupo Cántico.

The new cultural infrastructure, now available to citizens, is an investment by the Ministry of Culture of more than 20 million euros.

The library, which has a constructed area of 7,000 square meters, almost six times more than the old headquarters, has state-of-the-art connectivity, total accessibility and maximum energy efficiency. The building, designed by Paredes Pedrosa Arquitectos, is located on a plot of land donated by the Córdoba City Council, in connection with the Agricultural Gardens. Furthermore, after the completion of the work, the urbanization of the area was developed in collaboration with the local Administration, as well as the equipment and signage of the building.
