The call for the SM Ibero-American Prize for Children and Young Adult Literature 2024 is now open and accepting nominations until April 11

The SM Ibero-American Prize for Children and Young Adult Literature was launched in 2005, the Ibero-American Year of Reading, with the purpose of promoting children and young adult literature in Ibero-America.

The main objective is to recognize those highly prestigious authors who have developed their literary career in the field of books for children and young adults. This award is endowed with $30,000.

Living authors who have a valuable creative work for children and young adults published in Spanish or Portuguese, whether narrative, poetry, scripts, or album book, whose importance is considered of transcendence for the field, may be candidates for the SM Ibero-American Prize for Children and Young Adult Literature. Textbooks or educational books will not be accepted.
