The Escribidores Literary Festival attracts prominent figures of the Americas and Spanish literature to Andalusia

On February 7, 8, 9 and 10, the eight provincial capitals of Andalusia and the municipality of Alhaurín de la Torre will host the III Literary Festival of American and European Escribidores 2024.

Created for the purpose of serving as a bridge that reinforces and revitalizes the link between America and Europe, around letters and culture, this meeting has quickly established itself as a reference among events of its nature. This prestigious convention is once again structured around a series of round tables, meetings and dialogues to promote observation and debate of some challenges common to Latin America, Europe and the United States.

Under the title “El poder y la palabra” (Power and the Word), the invited authors will address some current issues such as new populisms, the culture of lies, the influence of technologies on literature, new ways of narrating, the future of the paper book, censorship and self-censorship and cultural mixing, a direct consequence of migrations. The 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature, Mario Vargas Llosa, once again summons a delegation of authors, critics and specialized journalists under a banner where all of Andalusia will serve as a meeting point between culture in general and literature in particular.
