Bolivian literature bids farewell to Adolfo Cáceres, who died at the age of 86

The author of 'La mansion de los elegidos,' 'La saga de los esclavos,' and 'Octubre negro,' among other works, was born in Oruro in 1937.

The Bolivian writer and critic Adolfo Cáceres Romero, author of an important narrative work of fiction and literary research, died at the age of 86, as confirmed by sources close to the author.

Born in Oruro on September 27, 1937, Cáceres Romero studied and did much of his work in Cochabamba, the city where he finally died last Friday the 8th, a few minutes after noon. This was made known by René Rivera, a friend and disciple of the octogenarian author, in a message published on his Facebook account.

“Although he initially leaned toward law, Cáceres ended up training as a teacher at the Normal of the Universidad Católica Boliviana, specializing as a professor of Spanish literature and grammar,” as stated on the www.escritores.org web page.
