Madrid editors present the 2023 Antonio de Sancha Prize to the writer Lorenzo Silva

The editors of Madrid have presented this morning the XXVII Antonio de Sancha Prize 2023 to the writer Lorenzo Silva, awarded in recognition of “the quality and popularity of his books and journalistic articles, ..

as well as the constant defense of the rights of authors and publishers in our country and outside our borders.”

The event, which was held at the Círculo de Bellas Artes, was attended by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Community of Madrid, Mariano de Paco Serrano, and the General Director of Books and the Promotion of Reading, María José Gálvez, the delegate of the Government Area of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Madrid City Council, Marta Rivera, and the president of CEDRO, Carme Riera.

During his speech, the president of the Madrid Publishers Association, Manuel González, highlighted Silva's ability “to achieve something essential; entertain, because his books hook you in, and also teach, sharing information. Through his characters and his stories, we find reflections, with the prominence of ethical conduct and responsibility, with elements that, as readers, make us grow.
