Días de Cine presents 'El viaje de Carol' until January 20th

The movie, based on Ángel García Roldán's novel "A boca de noche," will be available at Días de Cine Reading Club until January 20th, 2013. This initiative is sponsored by the America Reads Spanish program and the American Library Association to promote literature and the Spanish language in American libraries and universities.

El viaje de Carol stars Clara Lago, Juan José Ballesta and Álvaro de Luna, and is directed by Imanol Uribe. The movie will be available until January 20th to participating libraries and universities.

Carol, a twelve-year-old Spanish-American girl from New York, travels with her mother to Spain in the spring of 1938, at the height of the Civil War. Separated from her beloved father, Carol arrives at her mother’s home village and transforms the secretive family environment. Her innocence and rebellious nature drive her at first to reject a world that is at once new and foreign. But she soon journeys into adulthood through a friendship with Maruja, the village teacher, and a young local boy, Tomiche.

The program is offered at no cost to U.S. libraries and universities. To participate, libraries simply have to register and send the form provided at the America Reads Spanish website. They will receive an exclusive user password via e-mail. This password will allow them to enjoy, legally and free of charge, public viewing of the movie of the week via online streaming at a library or university. All it requires is a computer and internet connection. For more information click here or send an email to Miami@comercio.mineco.es.
