Marino Gómez-Santos dies, memory of the 20th century

The journalist and writer, born in Oviedo and living in Madrid since his youth, published 60 books as a result of his friendship with characters such as Baroja, Marañón, Severo Ochoa and González-Ruano.

After publishing a few months ago his biograpy on the journalist César González-Ruano, the last great work of Marino Gómez-Santos, Luis María Anson praised in El Imparcial his "great literary and journalistic experience", but especially his tact. In this case, to get closer to a controversial character like Ruano. This sensitivity is the same that accompanied him throughout his fruitful career, in which he was able to deal with a large bunch of characters, most of them literary, that make up the bulk of the most experienced of the Spanish 20th century.

Gómez-Santos died this Wednesday in Madrid. Born in Oviedo, he was 90 years old. It was a living encyclopedia. Memory of journalism and letters.
