EL PAIS puts together a collection of children’s classics

“The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” is the first of these books, published by Alfaguara, that will be available next Sunday.

During the last months, reading has been one of the best companions of the quarantine.  Adults as well as children, have been distracted and educated.  Books, always generous, have provided education to children when classrooms were closed.  Without they even realizing it, books have kept their minds active.  Reading stimulates imagination, gives them values and vital knowledge, develops logical thinking and awakens curiosity.

It is the best tool for acquiring knowledge.  EL PAIS, together with Alfaguara Clásicos Publishing, have selected some of the most essential titles of any given children or young adult library to contribute to their development, and put them together in Alfaguara clásicos (Alfaguara Classics). “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” will be the first to reach newspaper stands this coming Sunday (July 12) with a retail price of 9.95 Euros.

“Journey to the Center of the Earth,” “Beauty and The Beast,” “A Christmas Carrol,” “Robinson Crusoe,” and the best Sherlock Holmes cases are some of the classics in this collection of illustrated hard cover books.  All of them are original works, except for the Quijote Edition, which is a carefully adapted work of this very enjoyable and essential story by José Luis Giménez-Frontín.  In addition, the collection will include a bilingual versión of “Romeo and Juliet.”
