Manuel Quiroga dies at the age of 75

The author of ‘Fuimos pájaros rotos,’ (Ambito Literario 1980) (We Were Broken Birds) and ‘Las batallas de octubre’ (Plaza & Janes, 2002) (The October Battles) has passed.

The Asociación Colegial de Escritores de España (ACE), (Collegiate Association of Spanish Writers), has announced the passing of their once Vice President, Manuel Quiroga, at the age of 75.  According to information gathered by this entity from several news agencies, “Quiroga Clérigo has shown throughout his life that writing can exist side-by-side with a dedication to solidarity.  He always displayed coherence as a person and a writer, committing with the cause of male and female authors,” stated the President of ACE, Manuel Rico Rego, after the passing of the author on June 5.

Quiroga, born in Madrid, 1945, had a writing career spanning almost half a century.  He also had a PhD Degree in Political Science and Sociology.
