Irene Vallejo: “Reviews help me reflect and distance myself from my work.”

On its tenth edition, “El infinito en un junco” (Infinity is Junk) by Irene Vallejos (Siruela Publishing) has become the literary sensation of this uncertain times, something very significant because it is a declaration of love for books.

EC: What are you currently reading?

IV: The Silence of Women by Pat Barker and The Agony of France by Chaves Nogales.

EC: What makes you stop reading a book?

IV: Several reasons, sometimes deep or sometimes circumstantial; if I don’t enjoy it or learn, or if it’s not the right time.

EC: Who would you like to have coffee with?

IV: With Montaigne, who wrote “Conversar es más dulce que ninguna acción de nuestra vida” (Talking is the sweetest action in our lives.
