Award-winning Books at the 2020 Cuatrogatos Foundation Awards

The Cuatrogatos Foundation—a non-profit organization founded in Miami by the writers Sergio Andricaín and Antonio Orlando Rodríguez to promote culture and education-...

selects every year the best twenty books in Spanish that were published the previous year by publishing houses in Ibero-America and the United States of America. Its purpose is to contribute to the dissemination and reading of high-quality books created by Ibero-American writers and illustrators.

Every year, after reading, analyzing and discussing a wide and representative sample of fiction books published by small and big publishing houses throughout the world, a committee selects the award-winning titles. This time, the committee considered around 1,500 books published by 171 publishing houses in 20 countries. In its 2020 edition, the 20 winners come from 19 publishing houses in seven different countries. Four of the winning publishing houses received the award for the first time.

The 20 winners have a remarkable literary and artistic value that, in the opinion of the organizers, deserves to be greatly disseminated. By granting them this award, Cuatrogatos wants to help them reach the largest possible number of homes, schools, libraries and other spaces encouraging young readers to be in contact with books.
