Writer Carlos Rojas dies at 91

Rojas, author of more than 20 novels, won important awards such as the National Literature Prize (1968), the Planeta Award (1973), and the Nadal Award (1979).

The Catalonian novelist, Carlos Rojas (Barcelona, 1928) died this past Sunday in Greenville, South Carolina at the age of 91, as reported by the editorial Valparaíso Ediciones in a statement released on Monday. Rojas, author of more than 20 novels, won important awards such as the National Literature Prize (1968), the Planeta Award (1973), and the Nadal Award (1979). A Doctor of Philosophy and Literature, Rojas was a Spanish reader at the University of Glasgow (Scotland).

He arrived in Florida, United States, in 1957, where he was an assistant professor of Spanish at the Rollins College.
