The 2019 Literature Award for Children and Young Adult Books has been bestowed to Ramón Portell, for his work Camins d’aigua.” (Water paths).

The Jury panel has reached this decision based on the book’s ability to “transport the reader through a series of adventures narrated in a great literary pace,”  This accolade is granted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports in order to recognize the work of a Spanish writer in any of the official languages of the state and its publisher during 2018.  The money prize is for 20,000 Euros. 

Ramón Portell (Barcelona, 1963) majored in Philology, has been a teacher and also a writer.  He has been featured in such magazines as El Mundo de los Pirineos, (The World of the Pyrenees), Viajes Natonal Geographic, Descobrir Cuina I Sápiens, among others and also some newspapers.
