Eugenia Vázquez Nacarino has won the XIV Esther Benítez Translation Award.

ACE Traductores established the competition in 2006 to honor the late translator, Esther Benítez Eiroa. The results have just been announced for this Award.

This year the prize went to a translator from Barcelona, Eugenia Vázquez Nacarino,  for her translation to Spanish of the novel Una noche en el paraíso de Lucia Berlin, (A night in Lucía Berlin’s Paradise) published by Editorial Alfaguara.

Nacarino was born in Barcelona in 1974. She has translated more than seventy titles to Spanish from authors like Margaret Atwood, Alice Munro, Sylvia Plath, Zadie Smith, James Salter and Joseph Conrad.
