Digitalia Hispánica Celebrates World Book Day

World Book Day is a commemoration celebrated worldwide with the aim of promoting reading, the publishing industry and the protection of intellectual property through copyright. Since 1996 it is an international celebration promoted by UNESCO.

April 23rd is a symbolic day for world literature as it coincides coincides with the birth or death of prominent authors like Shakespeare or Cervantes, among others.

UNESCO thus pays a universal tribute to books and authors, encouraging all, and in particular young people, to discover the joy of reading and to value the irreplaceable contributions of those who have promoted the social and cultural progress of humanity.
