Historical novel. Emilio Lara wins the 2nd Edhasa Prize for Historic Narrative with Tiempos de esperanza (Times of Hope)

The jury, this year presided by Daniel Fernandez, editor and president of Edhasa

offering apologies on behalf of Santiago Posteguillo, absent for personal reasons and who hopes to rejoin the jury next year - met on February 12th, unanimously selecting Emilio Lara as the winner, with Tiempos de esperanza (Times of Hope).

The jury was made up of:

  • Daniel Fernandez, editor of Edhasa, jury president 2019
  • Jacinto Anton, cultural writer for El Pais
  • Carlos Garcia Gual, editor, writer and literary critic, and next Spanish-language academic
  • Sergio Vila-Sanjuan, culture writer and director for La Vanguardia.
  • Mari Pau Dominguez, writer and journalist.
