Graciela Montes, winner of the 14th Premio Iberoamericano SM de LIJ (“Latin American Prize for Children and Young People’s Literature”).

Montes was unanimously selected to win the 14th edition of the Premio Iberoamericano SM de LIJ for her achievements as “a pioneering author in the field of children and young people’s literature in Latin America and Spain, ....

and inspiring several generations of writers and specialists industry experts from all over the region”. Aside In addition tofrom this recognition, Montes will receive 30 thousand dollarsa prize of $30,000, which is the award for winning the competition. The panel for this year’s jury was formed bycomprised of Juana Inés Dehesa, representing the Organización de los Estados Iberoamericanos (OEI) (“Organisation for theof Latin American States”); María Elena Maggi, as a representative ofrepresenting the Centro Regional para el Fomento del Libro en América Latina y el Caribe (CERLALC) (“Regional Centre Center for the Formation of theBook Development Book in Latin America and the Caribbean”); Verónica Juárez Campos, as part of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY México); José Pulido Mata, representing UNESCO Mexico, and Cecilia Ana Repetti, representing the Fundación SM (“SM Foundation”).
