The XXIII Booksellers Congress, organized by the Spanish Confederation of Booksellers' Associations and Associations (CEGAL), which celebrates its 40th anniversary, took place in the city of Seville from March 7 to 10, with the objective of "taking stock of the present and future of bookstores and offer an open space for contributions and reflections that contribute to advancing the sector, strengthen the role of bookstores and allow their proper development in line with the needs of society and readers. Juancho Pons, president of CEGAL, participated in the opening ceremony; Juan García Villadeamigo, president of FAL; Antonio José Lucas, General Director of Cultural and Book Innovation of the Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía and Óscar Sáenz de Santa María Gómez-Mampaso, General Director of Cultural Industries and Book (MECD).
