Javier Moro, Novela Spring Prize 2018

Madrid-born writer Javier Moro has been awarded the Primavera de Novela 2018 prize for «Mi pecado», a play in which he tells the story of the actress Conchita Montenegro and her career from the Hollywood of the 30s to the Spain of the Franco regime, according to the ruling of the jury, known today. The jury, chaired by Carme Riera and composed by Antonio Soler, Ramon Pernas, Fernando Rodriguez Lafuente and Ana Rosa Semprún, has made public in a press conference their decision on this award, organized by the publisher Espasa and Cultural Area of ??El Corte Inglés and endowed with 100,000 euros. «We are facing a great novel that takes us on a journey through time that goes from paradise (Hollywood of the 30s), arrives at hell (the Spanish Civil War) and ends in purgatory (the long night of the Franco regime)», the jury has highlighted on the winning work, which will go on sale next April 5.
